It will amaze you how helpful potatoes could be in solving these listed problem.
1. Soothe Burns - While cooking we sometimes get burns. Gently touch a minor burn with a piece of cut potato, it will soothe it and take out the sting.
2. Remove Salt From Soups - You've added more salt than needed to the soup and stews, add a cut up potato and it will absorb the salt. This is scientifically explained. The salt enters the cells of the potato by a process called Osmosis.
3. Remove Tarnish on Silverware - Grab a bunch of potatoes and boil them up, remove them from the water and save them for another use. Place your silverware in the remaining water and let sit for an hour. Then remove the silverware and wash. The tarnish should be gone.
4. cold or Hot Compress - Potatoes retain heat and the cold very well, so they make good compresses. Heat a potato, wrap it in a cloth and use as a hot compress. Do the same with a cold one that has been in the freezer.
5. Arrange Flowers - To hold small flower arrangements without the need to but that expensive florist's foam, cut a potato in half length ways, place with the cut side down in a container and poke holes in the surface so that you can insert flower stems into it.
6. Face Mask - Take a little mashed potato; add lemon juice and a teaspoon of milk. This makes a great face mask which you can put on, leave for twenty minutes and then rinse off. Your skin will feel great.
7. End Puffy Morning Eyes - Puffy eye in the morning? A little morning TLC is what you need. Apply slices of raw, cold potato to your eyes to make the puffiness go away.
